So Much More to Unlock...

These statues are all over the city as part of the Olympic decor.  Each one is in a different position, different colors, designs, etc. & each celebrates a different sport in the Games.  Kids loved finding them & posing!

The Tower of London was a highlight, as many friends had promised it would be.  I suppose like many places visited, it's hard to leave not feeling like there was more to be experienced; the Tower was no exception.  We would have loved to explore for another couple hours, but we were there the second half of the day & it was closing time before we'd seen it all as thoroughly as we'd hoped to.  I loved my kid's confidence however: "Mom!  We ARE coming back here!  We didn't see it all this time, because we're coming back!"  And looking into their sure & steady, long-lashed blue eyes, I took great relief in their certainty, & released the pent-up concerns I'd had for a couple days over not being able to get in all I was intending.....and this entry has just now shifted to not only be a few thoughts regarding the Tower of London, which is what I set out to offer, but really, more of an overall reflection of our time in London as a whole.  I've been without timely access to internet, so it's been a few days since my last blog, & of course, we've had many more wonderful experiences that I hope to be adding tonight, as I sit in the lovely home of my even more lovely Italian friend, Denise Comoli.

There's was just SO much to see in London & I truly want to see all of it with my dear three.  Had I known exactly where to go at every turn, & how to perfectly group together every sight to see, predict how long we'd visit each venue, & been able to maximize every subway/ bus ride with exacting navigation, perhaps we would have fit it all in, but that's not the way I roll, nor is it the way life usually unfolds before and around me.  So I'm taking solace in the assurance that we're coming back, thereby letting my heart smile & celebrate all that we did see; and it truly was enough to ponder & reflect on for a delightfully long time.
